Remember, Tom legally changed his name in 1985, right before his arrest (while changing one's name is not wrong, the fact that Tom was Known as Thomas papanier during the times he speaks about delayed the grouping of information) His BIRTH name was Thomas Anthony Papanier.. From what   MARGARET HARPER states, he was given permission to go with marshals to attended his mother's funeral  while he was awaiting trial. He was incarcerated 1986/87 and Rose passed on in March of 1987.

Now, why is this important? The ONLY Papanier to fit the birth date and other important information in NY to pass away during the years 1984 through 1992 was Rose. Tom claims his mother was the daughter of Joe "The Boss". But, even if she was, it would NEVER mean that a "spot" would be kept, offered or given in any Crime Family. It simply does not happen that way. Also, we found a male "Papanier" died in 1992 and lived at the same address as Rose. Also, Rose was a telephone operater, the same info we have on file for Tom's mom. Look at the place of address, both are the same and both were born the same year -though it could be a brother. But, Tom's father was NOT the son of Joe The Boss, and all records indicate neither was Rose. Imagine, Tom has a Birth Certificate but we have not gotten a copy where we can read all of it.. makes you wonder, no? why does he not produce ANY proof besides names of dead persons?

byname JOE THE BOSS, original name GIUSEPPE MASSERIA, leading crime boss of New York City from the early 1920s until his murder in 1931.  Emigrating from Sicily at age 16, Masseria associated with a band of Italian killers and Black Hand extortionists and committed burglaries and other petty crimes, but in 1920 he began to create the power that gave him control or a percentage of the profits of most of the Italian-run rackets in New York. In 1930 he declared war on Salvatore Maranzano and allied rivals, and some 60 gunmen and leaders on both sides were slaughtered in the resultant gang war. It ended on a Wednesday afternoon in April 1931, when Masseria was himself shot down by his own men while sitting in a Coney Island restaurant called Scarpato's Nuova Villa Tammaro. The assassins were Vito Genovese, Albert Anastasia, Joe Adonis, and Bugsy Siegel, led by Lucky Luciano.

So, Joe The Boss was IN AMERICA at 16 years of age.. he never had children
born in Sicily. In fact, Tom's mother could not have met Tom's father in
Sicily at 13 years of age and been married and then emigrated to America
as he claims... but guess what? If both were born in America, as records seem to demonstrate, and the records have an Anthony and a Rose passing away in Staten Island, where Tom is know to have lived, and they BOTH were born in 1909.. then they could have married at 13... but NOT in Sicily.. and Not as Tom states.. 

And Tom claims BECAUSE his MOTHER was the DAUGHTER of Joe The Boss he got his "button" at 17 from the gambino family .. problem is, IF Joe The Boss was His Granddad, then Tom would have been a Genovese, rather than a Gambino!
